After Dumbledore's death in Harry, Ron, and Hermione's 6th year at Hogwarts, and the Death Eaters invading Hogwarts thanks to Draco Malfoy, the Trio set out to find the Horcruxes and destroy Voldemort. After they succeeded, they confronted Voldemort in a truly terrible battle to end all battles. A battle in which many lesser and more well known people died. Percy Weasley was one, who died defending the Ministry when the Death Eaters attacked there.

In the Final Battle, Severus Snape, the man who killed the great Albus Dumbledore, was found defending the Order of the Phoenix members who were fighting there, as well as Harry Potter. In addition, Draco Malfoy defended them as well, including Harry Potter. Both men saved Harry's life countless times, and Harry saved their lives as well. It was due to the two of them defending him that he managed to kill Voldemort, and rid the world of his evil for the last time. Harry received an Order of Merlin, First Class.

Of course, after it was over, countless Death Eaters were arrested. Among them, Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy, as well as Draco's mother, Narcissa. Harry, unable to ignore what they did for him, vouched for them, explaining what they did for him. Severus and Draco explained what happened during that infamous year at Hogwarts, in which it was revealed, and eventually proved due to a memory that was in Severus' Pensive, that he did it on Dumbledore's orders to save Draco from having to do it.

The Ministry was not too keen on believing him, but they could not deny it. However, the fact remained that he did kill Albus Dumbledore, a great loss to the Wizarding World. Harry again reiterated that without him he would not be standing here, nor would have been able to kill Voldemort. He would have perished early on. Unable to argue with Harry Potter, the saviour of the Wizarding World, they agreed to his terms - on one condition.

Harry would have to become the Ministry's liaison to both Snape and Malfoy, as well as any other so-called "reformed Death Eaters", and keep an eye on them. He would have to spend a certain amount of time each week with them to make sure they were truly reformed. Harry agreed. He was also offered a job as an Auror, but turned it down. He had had enough of fighting Death Eaters to last him the rest of his life, thank you very much.

It's now five years later, and Hogwarts is finally starting to gain back the number of students it had before, although some parents do not trust it still, without Dumbledore. Deputy Headmistress McGonagall has retired, stating that she's much too old to be keeping up; Professors Flitwick and Sprout have also retired; Aerin Tarrowind, has taken charge. The two professors are doing their best with the school, although they're still having trouble getting a Defense against the Dark Arts teacher...

Severus Snape gained his job back at Hogwarts as Potions Master, as well as Head of Slytherin House, as well as taking over Minerva McGonagall's position as Deputy Headmaster, after both him and Harry talking with Minerva. Hermione, after exploring other job opportunities, finally got a job as a teacher at Hogwarts, as Arithmancy teacher, after Professor Vector retired. She also became the Gryffindors Head of House. Ron got a job at the Ministry in the Department of Magical Games and Sports, and Ginny got a job as Healer at St. Mungos.

Harry still works as a Liaison to Reformed Death Eaters, though most of his time is spent with the top high-profile ex-Death Eaters, Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy. Of course, no matter what he says, the Ministry refuses to believe that they are not evil (which they're not), and constantly asks him if they are doing anything illegal, which thoroughly annoys Harry, of course.

On a personal level, though, Harry has been changed permanently by the war, in ways that he cannot truly and never will, comprehend. To be honest, he identifies more with his Slytherin ex-teacher and ex-nemesis than his Gryffindor friends. He and Ginny agreed to stay friends, as he longer cares for her the way he used to, and felt it unfair to her to be with her in that way if he didn't. He only cares for her as a friend now.

Not too long ago, Lucius Malfoy, father of Draco Malfoy and husband of Narcissa Malfoy, who died in jail a year ago, escaped. The Ministry searches for him but to no avail. They are worried, and have been received threats from him, receiving assurances from Draco and Harry that Draco has had no contact whatsoever with his estranged father...
